Thanks! I will probably give that a test within a couple of days.
If the 716 firmware fails for some reason, will I be able to just go back to 715?

Re: Possible defective BeadaPanel 5P (or bad firmware)
"You will need to put a special marker in Panel-Link tag to avoid this squished up"
How do you do that? Is it in the start tag?

Re: Possible defective BeadaPanel 5P (or bad firmware)
"3. If 7.7 fps on 6P is below under your expectations. You can consider to directly send portrait(480x1280) images to bypass HW rotation and this will help you archive a target fps at 20." Is this right? If you send a 480x1280 image, it will display as portrait (and not squished up in landscape)? If...

Re: Possible defective BeadaPanel 5P (or bad firmware)
Is your javascript using continuous PNG or Start-image-End? I think it's the former. If I try to do something similar on the 5P with my code, i.e., time how long it takes to send 1000 images then close the display and wait for that to return, I get only about 34 seconds (for 1000 images!) for a fram...

Re: Possible defective BeadaPanel 5P (or bad firmware)
I tried your suggestion of sending the 5P (in continuous PNG protocol) an image and then immediately sending it again, then timing how long that second image takes to send. I'm using the high resolution timer (10^7 tics/second) and get, for example, 29864 tics or about 3 ms. And THAT would be 333 fr...

Re: Possible defective BeadaPanel 5P (or bad firmware)
Thanks for the diagram. I actually got close to those dimensions using the Pythagorean theorem. It means the digits on the display will be a little smaller I guess. I'll have to think about that some. It would be nice to just try the 6P, but it's pretty expensive--and I'd have no use for it if it do...

Re: Possible defective BeadaPanel 5P (or bad firmware)
In return, perhaps you could answer a couple of questions for me. I'm kind of short of room for the weather data my app displays on the 5P--so I've been looking at the black BeadaPanel 6P as a possibly better fit. 1. Is the 6P display itself (excluding bezel) as wide in inches/mm in the 480-pixel di...

Re: Possible defective BeadaPanel 5P (or bad firmware)
I pointed the service tool at beadapanel-i6-v715-202403131.tar.gz and it updated fine. And I think you have a winner! 1. I didn't let it run for very long, but with the 5P and my AX206 display both running on AIDA64, both displays update simultaneously and the 5P never stops updating. 2. With my app...

Re: Possible defective BeadaPanel 5P (or bad firmware)
I downloaded https://www.nxelec.com/service/download/beadapanel-i6-v715-202403131.tar.gz and unzipped the tarball. I used the BeadaPanel service tool just like before, pointing it at the tarball, but got a "download failed" after the progress bar had got all the way across. So, I downloaded again--a...

Re: Possible defective BeadaPanel 5P (or bad firmware)
I haven't had a chance to update the firmware yet. But late this afternoon, AIDA64 popped up an "Update is available" message so I hit OK and it updated to version 7.20.6802. The release notes include: "fixed: Preferences / crash at open." (I always get a 1-year license, so I get these maintenance r...
