v7.10 Upgrade Guidance

Starting from v7.10, BeadaPanel supports a new feature as known of on line firmware upgrade. User can click through on BeadaTools webpage to complete the whole procedures of upgrading. For the products still in elder version than v7.10, user should upgrade it to v7.10 at first and then online upgrade it to any newer revisions.

Note:This procedures involve with Windows disk provision operation. Read this procedures first and ensure you understand thoroughly for each steps before real upgrade. Post questions here if you are not quite sure/clear for the steps in this procedures. Wrong operations may cause data lost and permanent damages to your PC hardware.

Section 1, Force into U Disk Mode
BeadaPanel firmware is resident in it's internal eMMC. We need force it into U Disk mode until we can access it from a Windows Host.
Pre-requirements Procedures
  1. Install DiskGenius on Windows host machine
  2. Connect Micro-USB cable with PC host and Innostick 6 P1
    Firmware starts to run and LED1 starts to blink.
  3. Mount Jumper J2-1 and J2-2 on Innostick 6(USB Memory Stick Mode)

    Customer can use a tweezer or wire to short the two points together
  4. Reset Control Board
    Meanwhlie shorting J2-1 and J2-2, push RESET button to reset control board. You can release the shorter soon after you release the RESET button.
  5. Wait until an USB mass storage gadget device recognized by Windows
    There are Linux partitions on Innostick 6 on-board eMMC, Windows can not recognize them and prompt for formating

    Select 'Cancel' in this case.
  6. Double click to start DiskGenius.

Section 2, Restore Partition Table
BeadaPanel firmware residents in different eMMC partitions, so we should restore the partition table first. Procedures in this section are operated in DiskGenius.
  1. Click on the disk

  2. Right click to select "Restore Partition Table"

  3. Choose ptf file
    Image
  4. Click "Open"
  5. Click "Yes"

  6. DiskGenius ask if restore boot sectors, select "No"

  7. Partition table restore success

    There are 4 partitions on BeadaPanel internal eMMC. We will copy firmware files to the first 2 partitions and format the last FAT32 partition.
Section 3, Load Firmware files on FAT16 Partition
Procedures in this section are operated in Windows resource explorer
  1. Find Windows disk letter for FAT16 partition, it is 'E' in this case.

  2. Open Window Resource Explorer and then open disk 'E'
  3. Replace these three firmware files.

Section 4, Provision EXT4 Partition
Procedures in this section are operated in DiskGenius
  1. Click on First Linux EXT4 Partition

  2. Right click to select "Restore Partition From Image File"

  3. Select Image file

  4. Click "Open"
  5. Click "Start"

  6. Click "Ok"

  7. Provision start
    Image
  8. Provision complete
    It may take about 3 minutes

  9. Click "Complete"
Section 5, Format FAT32 Partition
Procedures in this section are operated in DiskGenius
  1. Click on FAT32 partition

  2. Right click to select "Format Current Partition"
    Image
  3. Click "Format"
    Image
  4. Click "Yes"
    Image
  5. Format complete
    Image
  6. Choose the disk
  7. Right click to select "Safely Eject Disk"
    Image
  8. Re-plugin the USB cable and BeadaPanel will run into v7.10 firmware.
Section 6, Upgrade BeadaPanel to A Newer Version From v7.10
Procedures in this section are operated in Web browser
  1. Open web browser on Windows and enter "www.nxelec.com/service/beadatools"

  2. Click "Select screen"

  3. Choose target device

  4. Click "Connect"

  5. Connect success
    Image
  6. Click "Update firmware"

  7. Click "Remote update"
    Image
  8. Click "Update"
    Image
  9. Download start
    Image
  10. Inflate start
    Image
  11. Inflate complete, click "Reboot"
    Image
  12. Click "Confirm"
