What is U8 (24LC04) used for on the QQ2440?

Post by ndavey » Thu Jun 18, 2009 9:53 pm

Does anyone know what the 24LC04 is used for on the QQ2440 board?
Can it be used/access for user application? (with appropriate kernel support for i2c)

Thanks
Neil

It's there for experimentation, feel free to play with it.

You don't necessarily need kernel support for the memory itself, just the i2c bus is enough. you can then use the ioctl to access the memory from userland.

Thanks buserror...
I thought that might be the case, but thought I'd check... just starting to play with the 2440 platform and didn't want to break anything... :)
